Doris Maloy, a constitutional elected official, has served the state of Florida in her role as a public servant and later as an elected official for nearly 50 years in her native Tallahassee community.  In 2000, she was elected as Leon County Tax Collector and made history as the first female and African- American to serve as Tax Collector in Leon County.

Mrs. Maloy, a Certified Florida Collector, is a former president of the Florida Tax Collectors Association, an organization consisting of the 67 tax collectors of the state of Florida. On the national level, in 2015 she was the recipient of NACCTFO’s Outstanding Treasurer of the Year Award and was recently elected to serve as NACCTFO’s 2nd Vice President. Her participation on the NACCTFO board of directors is inspired by the networking opportunities of professionals and businesses across the country.

Actively involved within the community, Mrs. Maloy participates in several service organizations including Zonta International, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Association of University Women, Inc., and Big Bend Tallahassee Interest Group of The Society, Incorporated. She is also a member of the school advisory committee for Lively Technical College and the accounting advisory board for Kieser University.

Mrs. Maloy earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida State University.  In addition to her certification as a collector, she holds a designation as a Finance Master III.
