St. Lucie County Tax Collector Chris Craft was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida. His political career began when he was elected to the St. Lucie County Board of Commissioners in November of 2004. Craft was reelected and served as chairman of the board twice during his tenure. In 2012, he was elected St. Lucie County Tax Collector and has served the public in that role ever since. Craft served as president of the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers from 2023 – 2024 and this week will be sworn in as first vice president of the Florida Tax Collector’s Association. Before holding public office, Craft graduated from Westwood High School in 1992, studied sociology at Indian River State College (IRSC) and worked for the Coca-Cola company for 10 years. He is happily married to his lovely wife Sara and is the proud father of his adult daughter Sydni, and son, Carson and stepfather to Lauryn, Hailey and Toby. |
