History

The National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers was formed as an affiliate of the National Association of Counties in 1954 at the NACo Annual Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. The organization was originally formed as the National Association of County Treasurers (NACT) but was changed in 1957 to the National Association of County Treasurers and Finance Officers (NACTFO) to broaden the membership.  At the 2007 Annual Conference in Richmond, Virginia the name was changed again to include the title of "Collectors".
